SRPC was initiated in 2008 to inculcate research culture in the school community. The programme consists of two main components.

  1. Research training programme – the NSF nominates a senior scientist to all selected projects to guide and supervise students through a period of 6 months. The NSF is closely monitoring the students’ progress and conducts progress reviews where students have to present their progress using multimedia presentations. The projects which successfully completed up to final progress review are eligible to participate in the competition.
  2. Competition is conducted in two STEPS:
    1. STEP I : presentations based on multimedia to select the best 20 projects
    2. STEP II: presentations based on posters to select the best 10 winning projects

The programme has been designed following international criteria, safety standards etc. use by similar programmes conducted internationally for college students.
