The establishment of the School Science Society (SSS) commenced in 2005 with the aim of actively engaging the school community in the National Science Foundation's (NSF) science education and popularization programs in an effective and impactful manner. Science societies from all type of schools are eligible to register under this network. To ensure continuous improvement and recognize excellence, the NSF conducts an annual evaluation of registered science societies, awarding star ratings based on their performance and achievements.
