

Prof. Srikantha Herath, an academician and a researcher residing in Japan visited NSF on 24th January for a discussion on initiating an international collaborative programme related to ‘One Health’ approach. Agriculture, Climate Change and Water Resources have been identified as some of the potential areas to be included in a such programme and work to be continued in transforming the programme into actions.
Prof. Srikantha has more than 40 years of experience in civil engineering, both in industry and in academia, specializing in flood risk reduction, urban water management and climate change and impact assessment, using mathematical models and spatial data. He has also played an important role in setting up of weather stations in 98 schools in Sri Lanka.
Prof. Saman Senaweera, Chairman/NSF joined the discussion online while Dr Sepalika Sudasinghe, Director General and other senior officials from NSF attended the discussion in-person.
