Dr Bandula Wijay inspired and ignited a group of young researchers at a session held in the NSF

Dr Bandula Wijay, a world-renowned Sri Lankan inventor, entrepreneur in Biomedical Engineering, Educator and a diplomat visited the NSF and attended a networking session titled ‘ProSPER.Net Young Researchers School” organized by the NSF which was held on Wednesday, 18th December 2024 from 8.30 am – 12.00 noon in the NSF Auditorium.

Dr Bandula Wijay delivered the keynote address which inspired and ignited the participants comprising of a group of young researchers who visited the NSF representing Asia –Pacific countries namely Thailand, the Philippines, Pakistan, India, Indonesia and Sri Lanka, and Scientific Officers of the NSF. The key message of Dr Wijay to the young researchers was to focus on PhD research having potential to yield a great impact on society and the country so that researchers’ time and energy would create much value.

Dr Luckshitha Suriyasena Liyanage, Senior Lecturer, Department of Physics, University of Colombo made another important presentation on “Navigating Graduate Studies as a Young Academic: Challenges, Lessons and Success Factors” where he shared experience as a young academician.

Dr Sepalika Sudasinghe, Director General NSF welcomed the participants and Prof. Saman Seneweera, Chairman, NSF made introductory remarks. This event was organized by the Media and Event Management Division in collaboration with the Research Division under the guidance of the Director General.
