NSF wins the Gold Award at the Best Annual Reports & Accounts Awards Ceremony 2023

NSF won the Gold Award at the Seventh Best Annual Reports and Accounts in the Public Sector for 2022 Awards Ceremony, organized by the Association of Public Finance Accountants, Sri Lanka (APFASL), the Public Sector Wing of Charted Accountants of Sri Lanka. This is the 5th consecutive year that NSF has been honored with an Award at this Competition.

Under the category of “Research Institutions”, the NSF was awarded first place with the Gold Award while the Coconut Research Institute received the Silver Award.

The Awards Ceremony was held at the BMICH on the 4th of December, 2023. Mr Niel Asoka Ranjith, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The APFASL holds this competition annually to ensure timely reporting of annual performance and the financial position in a comprehensive manner thereby enhancing transparency, accountability and good governance in the public sector.

The NSF Annual Report of 2022 reflected on the financial and physical performance, comprehensively, in summary format as well as in detail and graphical format including pictures. The Action Plan for year 2022 was highlighted in the report and the performance was emphasized, accordingly. The exceptional work carried out by committed staff of NSF, supported by the continued guidance from all stakeholders and the meticulous accuracy of the final accounts, even amidst of a turbulent economy and other challenges, played a significant role in winning the top Award. The future projections of NSF, in aspiring to be a “Knowledge creating Company” were accentuated in the Annual Report.

On behalf of the NSF, Dr Sepalika Sudasinghe, Director General of NSF received the Gold Award from Mr Niel Asoka Ranjith, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government and Ms Christine Dasanayake, Senior Scientific Officer of NSF received the Certificate for the Award from Mr V. Kanagasabapathy, President of APFASL.
