Call for Applications: UNESCO Sultan Qaboos Prize for Environmental Conservation 2019

Applications are invited from Individuals, groups and institutions who have made significant contributions to the management or conservation of the environment, consistent with the policies, aims and objectives of UNESCO, and in relation to the Organization’s programmes in this field, i.e. environmental and natural resources research, environmental education and training, creation of environmental awareness and activities aimed at establishing and managing protected areas.

The NSF is looking for the following vacancies to get technical expertise to provide services to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in the process of implementing the National Biosafety Framework (NBF) formulated by the Ministry of Mahaweli Development and Environment (MoMDE).

UNESCO/POLAND Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme in Engineering – Cycle 2019

The Polish National Commission for UNESCO and the UNESCO Chair for Science, Technology and Engineering Education at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow call applications for fellowships of six (6) months duration, in Poland, starting on 1 October 2019. The objectives of this programme are to promote human resource capacities in the developing countries and to enhance international understanding and friendship among nations and the people of Poland.

This programme is offered in open competition and the candidates who meet the criteria stipulated in the Annexes with the required qualifications will only be selected. Since the UNESCO attaches high priority to gender equality, special attention should be paid to women’s candidatures for an equal representation.


Workshop on Effective Research Proposal Writing


The Research Division of NSF is organizing a “Workshop on Effective Research Proposal Writing” on the  9th of May, 2019 at the Auditorium of the NSF.

Applications are invited from interested individuals for the workshop. The objective of this workshop is to train prospective applicants on submitting successful research proposals to NSF Research Grant Schemes.
