Tapping global funding opportunities is one of the strategies to strengthen local STI. The National Science Foundation (NSF) being the premier organization in the country in fostering STI is committed to support research scientists to secure international funding and strengthen R&D collaboration with the global talent pool.

Addressing the said, the NSF organized a successful webinar on effective proposal writing in collaboration with the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) on 16th March 2023. The objective of the webinar was to enlighten prospective applicants to pitch their research proposals with the terms of ICGEB-CRP Call 2023 and heighten the success rate.

ICGEB-CRP provides financial support to carry out research addressing original scientific problems of relevance to the host country and of regional interests in the fields of basic sciences, human healthcare, industrial & agricultural biotechnology and bioenergy.

Dr Vittorio Venturi, ICGEB Scientific Coordinator and Ms Suzanne Kerbavcic, Head, Communications, Public Information and Outreach, ICGEB presented CRP guidelines and evaluation criteria in preparing a competitive proposal.  Dr Shantha Siri, Head/International Affairs Division of the NSF highlighted the NSF role in evaluating CRP proposals.
