NSF successfully conducted a Dengue Awareness Programme on 31st July 2026 at the NSF auditorium to enhance staff awareness on dengue prevention and control measures.
The programme was organized coinciding with the Special Dengue Prevention Day declared by the Government circular, highlighting the importance of collective responsibility and proactive community engagement in preventing the spread of dengue.
The session was facilitated by Dr Sudath Samaraweera, Chairman of the NSF, who served as the resource person. Drawing on his extensive professional expertise and experience in the field, Dr. Samaraweera provided valuable insights into dengue prevention, vector control strategies, and best practices to ensure public health. Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the current dengue situation, practical preventive measures that can be adopted at both individual and community levels, and the significance of maintaining a clean environment to eliminate mosquito breeding sites.
The programme featured an interactive discussion session, enabling participants to exchange views and strengthen their knowledge on effective dengue prevention and management practices. Following the awareness session, a field inspection was conducted within the NSF premises to to ensure the premises is free of potential mosquito breeding sites and reinforce the practical application of dengue prevention measures.
Through these type of initiatives, the NSF continues to promote public health awareness and encourage active participation in safeguarding the well-being of the community.
