The National Science Foundation invites applications from scientists who have made outstanding
contributions to the popularization of science and the promotion of scientific literacy in Sri Lanka.

- Appreciation Awards
Eligibility & Criteria:
- Applicants must be citizens of Sri Lanka.
- Work must have been carried during 1st January 2023 – 31st December 2025.
- Contributions may include writing, public lectures, workshops, Radio/TV programs, social media, etc.
- Your main achievements in science popularization and promoting science education.
- Emphasis should be on popularizing science among wider communities, not individual research.
- Only individual applicants are eligible.
- NSF staff, committee members, and members of the Board of Management are not eligible.
Application Guidelines:
Application should accompany:
- Completed application form (download from www.nsf.gov.lk)
- Academic and professional background details.
- Summary of work and results achieved in science popularization.
- Description of contributions to science education and literacy.
- Annexes (proofs of programs conducted, publications, books,
media articles, digital content, etc.)
How to Apply:
Completed dossiers should be posted to the Director General, National Science Foundation with the subject line "SPAS 2026" on top left hand corner of the envelope.
