The Industrial Development Board (IDB) under the auspices of the Mintry of Industries organized the First International Symposium on Green Industry Initiative for Sustainable Industrial Development (ISGSD 2024) on the 20th and 21st of June 2024 at the BMICH parallel to the International Industry Expo -2024 with over 1000 stalls.Prof. Ranjith Senaratne, Chairman of the National Science Foundation delivered the inaugural keynote address on the 20th June under the theme "Green Initiatives for Sustainable Industrial Development"
Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, Hon.Minster of Industries, was the Chief Guest of the occasion, and Mr. Shantha Weerasinghe, Secretary to the Minstry of Industries, Dr. Saranga Alahapperruma, Chairman of the IDB and Dr. L.P. Sudath Rohitha, Conference Chair were among the distinguished participants. The event brought together researchers, academics, and industry professionals worldwide to exchange research findings on green initiatives, fostering sustainable industrial development.
