The Open University of Sri Lanka poised to establish strategic partnership with the NSF

Prof. P.M.C. Thilakarathne, Vice-Chancellor of the Open University of Sri Lanka visited the NSF on 07 February 2023 along with Dr. Prasad Senadheera, Senior Lecturer in Botany, OUSL and held discussion with Professor Emeritus Ranjith Senaratne, Chairman and Dr. Sepalika Sudasinghe, Director General of the NSF to develop partnership between the two institutions in order to enhance the academic and research programmes of the OUSL. There was active deliberation  on how the Global Digital Platform constructed the NSF to harness Sri Lankan expatriate scientists and professionals for national development could be made use of to offer novel academic programmes, modules  and activities  to respond to current needs and challenges of Sri Lanka in a globalized environment.

The OUSL will submit a concept note to the NSF based on the discussion held which will   pave the way for a strategic partnership to mutual benefit,  advancing  the goals and objectives of the two institutions. Dr. Shantha Siri, Head and Ms Thilinakumari Kandanamulla, Scientific Officer, of the   International Affairs Division also  took part in the discussion.
