Dr. Palitha Kohana, Ambassador-Designate for PRC called on Prof. Ranjith Senaratne, Chairman, National Science Foundation on 06 October 2020 to learn about the current engagement of NSF with Chinese institutions in the field of Science,Technology and Innovation (STI) and projects and programmes, particularly with Chinese universities and R&D institutions to promote academic cooperation and research collaboration in a mutually rewarding and reinforcing manner enhancing relations between the two countries.
Discussions were held on a wide range of fields for possible cooperation, including expansion of science education into rural areas, improvement of scientific literacy and introduction of novel TV programmes to promote a culture of creativity and innovation in the country.
