To strengthen the capabilities of small, medium and large scale companies, State sector and Individual entrepreneurs to be competitive regionally and globally by product/ process improvements, and assisting innovative ideas to become reality.

  • If you have an innovative product/ process/ service at Technology Readiness Level 4 or above (TRL 4) and want to develop further, apply for Technology Development Grant Scheme
  • If you a have Tech-Start-up or a Spin-off based on a novel product/ process/ service at TRL 8 or above, apply for the Start-up Grant Scheme

Basic Requirements

  • Duly filled applications
  • Clearly mention the sector: • State • Non-state • Individual
  • State & Non-state applicants should forward relevant documents through the Head of the
    institution or company
  • Team Leader should be a citizen of Sri Lanka and residing in Sri Lanka
  • Provide evidence (Ex: patent certificates, copies of research articles)
  • Comprehensive budget with breakdown
  • Individual applicant should apply with a commercial partner/ collaborator

How to apply :

EOIs are Accepted Throughout the Year

Windows close on:

  • 1st window - 30th April 2026
  • 2nd window - 30th August 2026

Note

  • If the applicant is selected, non state sector & individual applicants should provide a refundable bank guarantee equivalent to the amount disburse as the first installment 
  • Grants proposals more than Rs. 10 Mn are not encouraged

Grants will be awarded to successful applicants subject to availability of funds. Incomplete applications and applications received after the given deadline will not be processed. Decision of the National Science Foundation will be final.
