Project Based Personnel Exchange Programme (PPP) by the National Science Foundation, Sri Lanka (NSF) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)

7th Joint Call for Proposals - 2025

This programme is to strengthen the collaboration between Sri Lankan and German research groups, which are working jointly on a particular scientific research project with any other source of funds. The programme ‘Project – based Personnel Exchange’ focuses on the financial support for operational mobility only. It should be funded by a local industrial partner from the private sector for the Sri Lankan mobility group.

Why you should apply

While getting the exposure to cutting-edge research facilities in Germany, the Sri Lankan project teams would be able to get their research components completed through the visit/s. DAAD will provide a higher amount of funds to German counterpart of the project for international travel to and from Sri Lanka and the stay in Sri Lanka in the form of lump sums due to this collaborative approach.

The role of NSF

NSF will play the execution and coordination role in ensuring collaborative research-related visits to Germany by local researchers, addressing national priorities and industrial needs while continuing the collaboration with DAAD.

Please note that the prospective Sri Lankan applicants need to secure funds for this mobility programme from the industry sector, as the use of government funds for study tours abroad is not permissive and therefore, NSF is not in a position to fund this programme.
