A high-level delegation from the Guizhou University, People's Republic of China visited the National Science Foundation on 15th January 2025 for a preliminary discussion on “Establishment of an International Joint Laboratory Between China and Sri Lanka on Green Plant Protection under the “Belt and Road” Initiative in China”. The delegation was led by Prof. Hao Gefel from the State Key Laboratory of Green Pesticide, Guizhou University, China, consisted of several Professors from four different Universities in China. Prof. Wishwajith Kandegama from Wayamba University of Sri Lanka was also in the team who has close collaboration with the Guizhou University.
The delegation engaged in a productive discussion with Prof. Saman Seneweera, Chairman, Dr Sepalika Sudasinghe, Director General and other senior officials of NSF where opportunities for research collaboration and technical cooperation in a mutually rewarding way were underlined. Networking established and the dialogue will continue to play a befitting role by the NSF in establishment and propelling of the proposed joint laboratory towards progressive advancement of the innovation ecosystem contributing to socio-economic development.
