Public Seminar on Indigenous Knowledge and Development

The above seminar was organized under Vidukavaya public lecture series and was held on 4th November 2014 at 10.30 a.m. in the NSF Auditorium with the attendance of over 60 participants followed by an interesting discussion. The resource persons representing the NSF Working Committee delivered lectures on Indigenous medicine- (Dr Nimal Karunasiri and Dr Aruna Munasinghe); Indigenous architecture (Prof Nimal De Silva); Indigenous agriculture and irrigation (Mr Mathugama Seneviruvan) and Iron industry in Sri Lanka- (Mr Asoka De Silva). The purpose of the seminar was to make aware and motivate people on indigenous knowledge and technologies that was ~ used 2000 years ago and which can still be used for a sustainable and environmental friendly development.
